How to Become Captain of Drill Team

You have to admit you at least dreamed of being on a drill team. Flawless and perfect they high kick the way into the crowd's hearts at halftime of football games. Smile and be ready for some hard work to become captain.

   Check the requirements to become an officer. Most teams make the team members become sophomores before they can tryout.

   Work hard for amazing high kicks and flexibility. Stretch and kick every day. Make it a goal to kick chin level by the time of tryouts.

   Enroll in a dance class at a local studio. Dancing is a big part of what separates line members from the captain.

   Be positive and encouraging. Don't be negative, negativity will get you nowhere in rank.

   Be a leader. Running practice and games are part of your future position as captain.

   Look your best each day. Make your skin, hair, nails, tan, and makeup perfect. Wear waterproof makeup to prevent it from running when you sweat.

   Smell good. Shower, wear perfume and deodorant every day.
